I am currently a PhD graduate student at the University of Utah researching compiler optimization. More specifically, I am interested in sparse tensor representations within compilers. I worked for 27 years in the industry before pursuing my graduate work, enjoying work at places like Novell and SUSE. I have an extensive background working with Linux in it’s many forms, even building from scratch once - just to see if I could do it.
Personally, I love astronomy and try to get out with my 203mm reflector whenever I can. I also enjoy fantasy literature such as that written by Tolkien and Sanderson.
